Forbes Burnham (1923-1985) Beneficiary of US and British Governments’ Patronages.

 Most folks focus on the assassination of The Most Honorable Walter Rodney (1942-1980) as the major objection to Forbes Burnham (1923-1985) being a posthumous recipient of the Oliver Tambo Award. However, it is known Forbes Burnham engaged in questionable business practices.  “It was clear that the nationalisation of DEMBA did not follow the socialist form, and ALCAN was certainly pleased with the deal. The new bauxite company, GUYBAU, immediately signed a contract with the South African-based Philipp Brothers to be its marketing agent for bauxite on the world market. Philipp Brothers was closely tied up with the apartheid regime in South Africa and was also a subsidiary of the multi-national giant, the Anglo American Corporation.” More over Burnham made his bed with the CIA that castrates him right there and identifies him as a lackey of the US and British governments whom he owed for his elevation to Head of State of Guyana.  Guyanese people did not make Burnham their Premier, Prime Minister or President. He was a beneficiary of US and British governments’ patronages. 
I think and understand it’s rather bizarre that Jesse Jackson, Cheddi Jagan (1918-1997), Edward Moore Kennedy (1932-2009) and Jawaharlal Nehru (1889-1964) are honored with the Tambo Award. What’s that about? None of the three were about Oliver Tambo, the Global Black Experience and the greatest good of Black Life and Culture. Blacks in India have been catching hell daily for some 3513 years or more. Blacks in Guyana have caught hell under Jagan and are still catching hell under Jagdeo-Ramotar crime syndicate known as the PPP. Everyone knows the Kennedy politicians although liberal in approach weren’t at all against eradicating black leaders who were not cooperating with the US government. 

People such as the Wailers (Bunny Wailer, Peter Tosh and Bob Marley), Vivian Richards, Michael Holding, Joel Garner, Andy Roberts, and Clive Lloyd and other West Indian test cricketers must be honored for their stand against apartheid.  So too the African teachers must be honored for their stand against apartheid; Eusi Kwayana, John Henrik Clarke, Yosef Ben-Jochannan,  Cheikh Anta Diop,  Runoko Rashidi, Ivan Van Sertima, Leonard Jeffries,  Malcolm X, and Walter Rodney and others of similar mettle. None should be rewarded with the Oliver Tambo Award when clearly charges and evidences of oppressing Black people could be clearly proven against them. Ah very well then I don’t see why Burnham shouldn’t be given the award in consequence of the other questionable recipients. I rest my case….

They are all damned blasted liars.  Otherwise within  275,000 -150 BCE none of our people  bequeathed those labels. Where is the historical proof? If you think Niger, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Nile Africa and African and so on; are indigenous to melanin dominant humans - you are part of the problem. You are not part of the solution. What lessons must be drawn from this travesty

 This is  utter nonsense.  What lessons must be drawn from this travesty? This POW is extremely angry at Hilbert Foster, Berbice Cricket Board, and Shimron Hetmyer for allowing Berbice to be embarrassed. Guyana Cricket Board and Georgetown cricket club before that institution -  has always violated Berbice cricket.

Hetmyer, Motie, Shepherd, Permaul, Kevin Sinclair, Bramble, Anderson, Smith, Joseph, Foo and Pestano -  are eleven of the top players missing from the Berbice team. The  BCB ought to demand postponement of the competition.  Even if Adrian Hetmyer and Seon  Hetmyer, son and father were included in the team at Enmore  - this POW would not be forgiving of Hilbert Foster and BCB in March  2023.  Hetmyer  should have joined his older sibling at Enmore. Hetmyer should have made a clear statement to Sarwan and GCB. He is not interested in their rhetoric. They did not fight Adams. Harper, Haynes, Simmons, and  Pollard on his behalf. He has missed 24 consecutive test matches. The six affiliates never cared about him.  None cared enough since Viv Richards to have the best talent in every West Indies team. Sarwan is too hypercritical. He has negative experiences with administrators. Now he is doing the same BS. Hetmyer should have shown loyalty to Berbice. What’s boundary of Hetmyer’s loyalty? Is it Cumberland? Is it Canje? Is it only his nuclear family?  Hetmyer is not bedridden. It’s only four days. Hetmyer alone is good enough to defeat this under-manned Essequebo team. This POW has had enough with this nonsense of testosterone deficiency of the modern administration and players. This POW expects Essequebo will defeat both Berbice and Demerara at full strength. He did not expect to be breathing when any Essequebo team will beat a Berbice team of cricketers nineteen years and older.  This nonsense at Enmore is too ridiculous to accept. How could Berbice Cricket Board administrators permit such foolishness? It is time to sweep them all out of BCB. A most disgusting lot. 

Ramnaresh Sarwan's hypocrisy or bias or both?

 GCB has never promoted the inclusion of cricketers linked to Berbice and Essequebo and other rural communities in the colonial and national teams. 
As late as 1951 cricketers from Georgetown populated the entire team. Sporadically, areas beyond Georgetown were given a bone here and there. Clyde Walcott broke the barriers 1954-1964 Kanhai, Butcher, Solomon, Madray, Sonny Moonsammy, Seranga Baichu, In fact Berbice became as strong as they were during the 1930s that Berbice played a four days match against MCC during March 1960 at Rose Hall, Canje.  The score card exhibited; Berbice 387 -2 Butcher 131*, MCC 641-6 Parks 183 Barrington 103 Illingworth 100 Benjamin 3-172

Ramnaresh Sarwan had issues with West indies cricket administration. It was so terrible.  The Australian cricket Board paid for Sarwan’s medical care. Sarwan began in defence of Shimron Hetmyer, In February 2020, Sarwan criticized CWI lower management for hating upon Shimron Hetmyer. Sarwan’s observations were made public less than four months into the second miserable debacle of Phil Simmons as coach of West Indies. Simmons  immediately began victimizing Hetmyer, instead of nurturing the promising cricketer. About a year later, Joseph Reds Perreira warned Hetmyer could be lost to West Indies cricket.  At some point, Sarwan jumped upon the failed fitness test bandwagon. Sarwan is too blind to understand the failed fitness test is a deception - a maneuver used to exclude better talent in preference to mediocre Barbadians. Sarwan joined the Desmond Haynes selection panel. Perhaps, as fast as you can blink your eyes – Sarwan resigned. 

The best thing Sarwan has ever done is - he made donations to Berbice cricket, Other than that this POW recognizes a flippant – hypocritical individual - devoid of ancestral consciousness.  Perhaps Chris Gayle is accurate with his impressions of Sarwan. This POW is not surprised by the narrative Sarwan is promoting. Is Sarwan a bigot? Certainly, anyone familiar with our peoples’ experiences in geographies; wherever Indians and Africans are in the same locations would understand the reality of that question. Only the gullible buys Sarwan’s expressions as per face value. This POW does like Sarwan’s ties to political party  which promotes hostilities against Africans in the Guyanese experience.  Perhaps, Sarwan is a beneficiary of political party patronage.  Sarwan should have been much more sensitive to the players' issues with CWI especially Guyanese, Indians  and spinners. This POW is convinced were Hetmyer, a Barbadian,  he would have some 40 test matches experience. And not only that, since 2020, Hetmyer would be the West Indies captain. 

Georgetown cricket still dominates Guyana cricket. GCB still handcuffing BCB and Berbice cricket.  

Although Sarwan is linked to Essequebo he does not have the testosterone to include four Essequebo players - Adams, Beaton, Sampson, and Savory - in the Guyana team for the next first class match. Certainly, with Chanderpaul, Hemraj, Motie, Hetmyer and Rutherford unavailable, there is no excuse why those four are omitted. Is it because they are Black surviving in Essequebo? would then be the appropriate question.  Our people must at some point stop the sadness of insularity.  Our people must learn from the Rastafarian community. This POW give thanks to the Wailers, Roots Reggae, Rastas' theology of liberation for introducing Marcus Garvey and of course race first consciousness to him.  

Sarwan is saying he will contribute to the further demise of the flawed construct called GCB and CWI. Only those afflicted with the pandemic - foolishness – would not select the best possible team. CWI  has not ever selected the best possible team. This POW is confident since January 2019 when Courtney Browne failed to select Bramble, Hemraj and Permaul; he was reminded of the pandemic of bias against Guyanese, Indians and spinners. Sarwan has never publicly  issued any statements respecting the reality Steve Wonder can see clearly. First Indian in Guyana team is likely Veerasammy in 1912, Is it John Trim during the late 1930s the first Berbice cricketer in Guyana team? Chatterpaul Persaud should have played for West Indies in the 1930s. This POW is confident there were Indian cricketers who ought to have been in West Indies teams 1900-1950. He love to hear about Indians who should have been selected 1900-1950.
