2023 needs to be a year of no distractions

December 29 is the last day of the year which is meaningful to my physical experience.  I pay homage to ancestors on dates I am aware of.  The uniqueness to the ancestor is remembered and venerated.

And I don't look forward to January, April and September. The pain of loved ones gone - no confidants remaining in the physical realm exhausts my supply of balanced energy on too many days in January, April and September.

The will to stand firm in love with those who I love to think loved this Sancho has been tested much too often.

January 1, 2023 means time to review of the content of the research project; tentatively entitled: Bentick Sancho and his people – Reconnecting Generations of Mande Enslaved in the Americas with Ancestral Lineages and Consciousness

Greatest regrets I could not obtain the input of Derrick Roberts, Harold Lutchman, Barton Scotland, and Joycelynne Loncke to impact the project

Lions must tell their story themselves. 2025 will likely be another year of war against humans – with health industrial complex – SEARS 2025.  The window of opportunity is rapidly closing. Therefore, 2023 needs to be a year of no distractions.

Why is Brathwaite a captain at any level of cricket?

West Indies have talented batsmen. However, none of the six best West Indies batsmen has appeared in the last twenty-two (22) test matches 2019-2022. The selectors refuse to choose, Nicholas Pooran, Lewis, King, and Rutherford for test match cricket. The selectors also rejected Hetmyer for 22 consecutive test matches.  The selectors also choose to omit Hope from test matches. How it is possible Desmond Haynes selected Chase as the frontline spinner? The selectors, January 2019 – December 2022  Browne, Haynes, Harper, Haynes, Simmons, Pollard behaved like the quicker bowlers they select are in the class of Roberts, Holding, Croft and Garner, 1974-1981 and/or Bishop, Ambrose, Walsh and Marshall c1989. Certainly, the behavior is clear. It’s outrageous bias against Motie, Permaul and the other much better spinners than Brathwaite and Chase. Indians, Guyanese, and Berbice cricketers endure too much asininity from CWI. Hence, with no light in the tunnel, awful results continuum, will be the reality in current times and the foreseeable future.  Note to Conde Riley, BCA and Desmond Haynes the numbers of mediocre Barbadians in test teams can never equate to success of Barbadian and West Indies cricket. Unless Barbadians are of the quality of float Woods, Tommie Browne, George Cumberbatch, George Francis, Hunte, Nurse, Weekes, Walcott, Worrell, Sobers, Marshall, Garner, Hall, Griffith, Martindale, Boyce, Greenidge, Vanburn Holder – they are not difference making cricketers. Therefore cannot lift West Indies cricket out of the abyss. They are part of the problem. Mediocrity can never be the solution and/or part thereof.

How the hell Brathwaite can think of bowling Chase in the tenth over of a test innings? Why is Brathwaite a captain at any level of cricket? West Indies cricket is infested with a preposterous mediocrity and asininity in administration 2017 – December 2022.  The preponderous mediocre and dumb - big idiots, Darren Bravo called them- are impeding the rise of West Indies cricket

Joseph Buttler is awfully underpaid for IPL 2023

Rajasthan Royals opener Joseph Buttler recorded 863 runs at an average of 57.33 with four hundred and four half-centuries at a strike rate of 149.05 in the IPL 2022. . Kannanur Lokesh Rahul was second with 626 runs. Sanju Samson was ninth with 458 runs from 17 innings.

I am of the opinion Joseph Buttler should be the highest paid player in IPL 2023. And that's based on his performance in IPL 2022. The critics need to be balanced. Most are incapable of rational thoughts and expressions. Every batsman, paid more than Joseph Buttler in the IPL is overpriced. In this system, at 10 crore, Joseph Buttler is awfully underpaid. It appears IPL does not have players’ opt-out clauses. I am saying the retained players must have opportunities to opt-out to be remunerated for the immediate past season’s performance. Otherwise, Joseph Butler’s salary for 2023 would surpass 1.5 crore per game – 25 crore

Certainly the owners have access to Rothschild money supply to offer the players great access. I cannot imagine any of the IPL franchise overpaying their means of production at a loss for the franchise. Obviously, the performances of the players at the top of the wage earning class may never match their earnings. However, I am of the opinion the high prices players are required to ensure the franchises participate in as many games as possible. Certainly winning the finals is the ultimate goal.

Nicholas Pooran 16 crore salaries for IPL 2023 is satisfactory reward for his enormous talent. Not so long ago, I was wondering whether Nicholas Pooran would ever walk again.  I am hoping Indians in the Caribbean use Nicholas Pooran 16 crore salary as motivation to hone their attacking batting skills, I am very tired of grafting batsmen from Joe Solomon in the late 1950s to Tagenarine Chanderpaul in current times. I love for the grafters to become ball-beaters. Certainly, touch players are acceptable.

Brathwaite and his ugliness is not an example of our cricket

This POW is convinced Brooks, Bonner, Brathwaite, Blackwood, Da Silva, Chase, and Mayers need to be removed from the test team. King, Hope, Hetmyer, Pooran, Rutherford, Carty and number of others must be given opportunities in 2023. Brathwaite and his ugliness is not an example of our cricket. A confident Gordon Greenidge is the right approach to opining batting in test match cricket. Braithwaite’s performances encourage bowlers. He puts undue presume on accompanying, succeeding batsmen and bowling unit. Brathwaite appeared in too many games for West Indies. Unless, Brathwaite  can be used as a crisis batsman in the lower middle order, he needs to be permanently removed from West Indies cricket. In prior eras, crisis batsmen such as Gerry Alexander, Basil Butcher, Joe Solomon, and Charlie Davis, usually batted at 4, 5 and 7 with Sobers at 6.  In Lloyd's teams 1974-1980 there were no designated crisis batsman. Fredericks, Greenidge, Kallicharran, Rowe, Richards, Lloyd, and Murray were all capable of applying themselves. However, from the last two test matches in Australia in 1976,  six of the first seven, generally,  revolved around Viv Richards. Of course, the openers, the dynamic  Fredericks and Greenidge,  in 1978 replaced by Greenidge and Haynes often times provided excellent platforms for Richards, Kallicharran, Rowe, Lloyd and Murray. And you still believe these so-called batsmen are West Indies best options for test match cricket. How ridiculous is that? None of them average near 42 runs per innings. All have putrid scoring rates.

It ought to be all hands on deck or get out of the way. If you are not part of the solution; you are part of the problem of 27 years of losing cricket. Berbice Cricket Board has a plan – works are in progress.

  1. What are the visions, the properly functioning programs of every administrator in organized cricket?
  2. What efforts are Leeward Islands, Windward Islands, Barbados, Jamaica, Guyana, and Trinidad and Tobago  and their affiliates, making?
  3. What are the visions of the administrators of Leeward Islands, Windward Islands, Barbados, Jamaica, Guyana, and Trinidad and Tobago  and their affiliates to eradicate  the problem of 27 years of losing West Indies cricket

Every malfunctioning administrator in CWI must be replaced. Every malfunctioning administrator in the six affiliates must be replaced with visionaries. Insularity and bias must be eradicated. Merit as per performances must be the deciding factor. Every West Indies representative must play first class cricket and be available for test matches. Dave Cameron was partly right.

No regional first class matches the cricketer is  ineligible to represent the West Indies. CWI must establish a commission of inquiry into selectors, coaches,  players and grounds staff 2015-2022,

  1. Why aren't the under 19 cricketers of 2014, 2016, 2018, and 2020 not dominant in West Indies teams, 2019-2022?
  2.  What is the level of commitment of the high earning cricketers to West Indies cricket?
  3. Why were fitness used to exclude the better performers?
  4. Why Hetmyer, Hope, Pooran were omitted and regressed under Phil Simmons watch?

Organized cricket in the West Indies needs a great reset.

Six Despicable Creatures - Murdered Shanquella Robinson

This POW is of the opinion - Khalil Cooke, Malik St Patrick Dyer, Wenter Essence Donovan, Alysse Michelle Hyatt, Daejhanae Jackson, and Nazeer Wiggins – are all beneath contempt.

This POW is also of the opinion; the authority of justice in Mexico must seek murder indictment and extradition of those despicable creatures.

This POW is advocating the US authority grant Mexico the right to prosecute those most disgusting creatures.

Those six putrid individuals need to be sentenced to life. They ought to be separately imprisoned in non-English Language speaking prisons in Mexico.  Cooke, Dyer, Donovan, Hyatt, Jackson, and Wiggins need to be whipped, no less than 12 strokes, daily. The cells need to be decorated with images of Shanquella Robinson. Those disgusting people need to be isolated and tormented daily for the remainder of their natural life. This POW does not support the death penalty. He is of the opinion the immediate enforced transition from physical realm of existence to the return to the spiritual realm of existence is not deterrent enough to influence people to refrain from committing violations of natural rights. This POW expects thoughts of life sentences in which the guilty will be tormented, daily, ought to more influencing than quick transitions. Perhaps, perpetrators are suicidal. Is it possible, humans are unlikely to prefer being tormented, daily, over instant death?

Shimron Hetmyer - 2022 Year in Review

Shimron Hetmyer - 2022 Year in Review

Shimron Hetmyer did not exhibit a major dominant performance in 2022. There were no triple and double centuries. Indeed there were no centuries. Of course, Hetmyer recorded a number of belligerent cameos in IPL 2022. Those performances were good enough for Rajasthan Royals to retain his services for IPL 2023.

This POW is of the opinion Hetmyer’s career is reminiscent of three notable West Indies cricketer of the past. Charles Ollivierre is the first outstanding melanin dominant batsman to represent the West Indies. Charles Ollivierre was a member of the 1900 touring team. He never returned to West Indies cricket. Charles Ollivierre set precedent of abandoning West Indies cricket. The reasons for choice are unknown to this POW. On the other hand 119 years later Shimron Hetmyer has been forced out of West Indies cricket by the administrators. Other than Hilbert Foster, Not one of them, despite his enormous talent, reached out to Shimron Hetmyer. The former iconic internationals that run their mouths about loyalty, pride and winning cricket have not linked with Hetmyer. I his POW thinks if the opportunities were available to Basil Butcher and Seymour Nurse, 1958-1970 they would have chosen franchise cricket of the malfunctions they endured with West Indies cricket. Wilton St Hill comes to mind because of the talent and potential he did not reproduce in the international arena.

Deryck Murray appeared in ten test matches 1963-1973. However, Murray became a consistent performer 1973-1983. Deryck Murray is perhaps, best remembered and adored for his match winning unbroken tenth wicket stand with Andy Roberts against Pakistan in World Cup 1975. Perhaps, Deryck Murray needs to bat one more time for West Indies cricket. This POW suggests Deryck Murray reach out to Shimron Hetmyer. This POW is not surprised the following are completely silent on CWI’s treatment of Hetmyer, 2019-2022. This POW charges the regional bodies are major part of the problem.

  1. Kishore Shallow Windward Islands Cricket Board of Control
  2. Azim Bassarath and The Trinidad & Tobago Cricket Board (TTCB)
  3. Conde Riley and Barbados Cricket Association (BCA)
  4. Wilford “Billy” Heaven and Jamaica cricket Association
  5. Bissoondyal Singh   Guyana Cricket Board
  6. Enoch Lewis, Leeward Island Cricket Board

None of those occupants of offices in cricket in the region demanded an inquirey into Jimmy Adams, Roger Harper, Phil Simmons, and Desmond Haynes.

This POW was not alarmed when he read

“Hetmyer could be lost to West Indies cricket” — Says veteran regional cricket commentator ‘Reds’ Perreira

This POW is not aware Azim Bassarath and/or other CWI and regional administrators, made any statements relative to the observations of Joseph ‘Reds’ Perreira some 17 months later the observations of Joseph ‘Reds’ Perreira were realized. Hetmyer did not board the transportation to Australia for T20 World Cup 2022. Azim Bassarath chooses to spew venom respecting Hetmyer. Azim Bassarath is never in the best interest of West Indies cricket. Azim Bassarath is the perfect example of the ridiculousness of Cricket West Indies. He circles around Trinidadians. Of coerce most happen to be Indians. However, Azim Bassarath is remarkably silent on the exclusion of spinners from West Indies cricket. Imran Khan, Nikita Miller, Gudakesh Motie-Kanhai, Veerasammy Permaul was outstanding for a number of consecutive years in regional cricket. Yet, they have not been in test teams relative to their performances. In January 2019 Guyana defeated a test player’s dominant Barbados team in Barbados. Chandrapaul Hemraj, Anthony Bramble, and Veerasammy Permaul were dominant. They were omitted from Courtney Browne’s choices for the test team. Of course, not a solitary word from Azim Bassarath. And there was also no condemnation from the five other affiliates. Only GCB and BCB barked their objections. The current regional administrators are experts in the confounded asininity of national, island and ethnic cleavage. Those behaviors are the root cause of the demise of winning West Indies cricket. This POW realized that possibility during the West Indies tour of New Zealand in winter 2019. Hetmyer endured a concussion. Hope was awful. Pooran was not included in the test team. Instead, Harper selected Pooran to represent West Indies A team. Pooran must have disappointed and disgusted. Pooran has not appeared in a first class match since that tour. This POW was perturbed. Were Hetmyer, Hope and Pooran overmatched by the quicks in conditions suitable for fast bowling? The question has not been answered conclusively.

This POW hopes Shimron Hetmyer records tremendous performances in 2023. He hopes West Indies cricket fans demand Hetmyer be in every international match in 2023. This POW recalls reading of Jamaicans forcing West Indies cricket to include George Headley in the test team; even though they knew Headley was well past his prime.  Phil Simmons is gone from West Indies cricket. However, the behaviors which promote losing West Indies cricket are firmly entrenched. Exchanging personnel is not change. It is superficial/ the problems of West Indies cricket 1995-2022 have not been addressed. This POW charges Richard “Ricky” Skerritt, Kishore Shallow, Jason King, Conde’ Riley, Wilford Heaven, Donovan Bennett, Enoch Lewis, Leon "Kuma" Rodney, Azim Bassarath, Arjoon Ramlal, Dwain Gill, Carol James Henry, Bissoondyal Singh   Alanna Medford-Singh, Johnny Grave are all clueless and carless. CWI and its affiliates are guilty of gross incompetence, indifference and negligence. Hence, winning cricket has not been consistently, present in West Indies 1995 -2022. This POW wishes our fast bowlers become as effective as the Andy Roberts bouncer which removed Stephen Camacho and ushered in the rebirth of winning West Indies cricket under Rohan Kanhai in summer 1973. There were only three Barbadians, Gary Sobers, Vanburn Holder, and Keith Boyce in that team. Shimron Hetmyer needs to answer the call of the return to winning West Indies cricket. He gave us a taste in 2016. This dreamer is still salivating.  He needs to lead Guyana teams . Hetmyer needs to bat no lower than number three. He needs to be controlled aggression at the crease.

Let’s go Hetmyer. Let’s go winning West Indies cricket

This POW in defence of winning West Indies cricket rests his case.
