Hello M'lilwana:

I did not receive a reply from you on my last e-mail...

However, I do note that you sent me some interviews of Guyanese politicians, which I do appreciate.  Can these be published by my Blog?

As promised earlier, I am willing to offer you a CD-ROM copy of a number of "Scans of old B.G. Books etc"  which were sent to me for publication, if I wished to do so.  The list:

Historical Documents of B.G.  -  CD-ROM

  1. 1860 B.G. Directory

  2. 1880 B.G. Directory

  3. 1882 B.G. Directory

  4. 1889 B.G. directory

  5. 1898 B.G. Directory

  6. 1904 B.G. Directory

  7. B.G. BMDs 1864-1896

  8. B.G. Colonial Office List of 1895

  9. B. G. One Dollar Note 1942

  10. Booker Clerks 1820-1904

  11. Dictionary of Guyanese Biography 1984

  12. Handbook of B.G. Probably 1919

  13. History Gazettes

  14. Pepper Pot by Vincent Roth 1958

  15. Stark’s Guide & History of B.G.., ca 1900

  16. Sugar Estate Engineers 1860-1904

  17. The Story of Georgetown

  18. Where is it? Gazetteer of B.G. 1938

Finally, I have a copy of Personalities Caribbean Fourth Edition 1970-1971. As I said earlier, this book was given to me by my father.  I am willing to offer it on loan to you if you need to scan those parts of it that you do not already have scanned.  Maybe you have already scanned the parts you wanted.  In any case the book is here for your use if you so desire.

Please let me know if you would like a copy of the CD-ROM and also the loan of the book.

Kindest regards,

Cyril

Hello:

Yes Cyril Bryan does know the truth of this matter.

I never even knew you had noted this document i your Blog as I do not read your blog.

I thought you had published the list with details but now that I look at your blog I see you just listed the names.

I had no access to your PDF FIle of the names so your accusation of me having your list is incorrect.  I am not interested in your data or stealing stuff from you.  You seem to be bent on accusing me of stealing your PDF file and I cannot understand why... as this book was published and distributed throughout the Caribbean and should still be available at many reference libraries.

As I said earlier, I have a CD-ROM of Guyana historical documents sent to me by a researcher. I do not know how he collected and scanned this list of documents.I am willing to give you the list of the contents of that CD-ROM when I return to my home office in a couple  of weeks.  I was and am still willing to give you  a copy of this CD-ROM as it may help with your research and it fits in my philosophy of  sharing the information I have. Send me your mailing address and I will mail  the CD-ROM to you.... if you are interested.

I was and still shocked at your accusations and your efforts to stop me from publicising historical documents that you say you have copied.  I do not see how you can do so since you did not write those documents and you have no copyright on them.

I hope that this resolves this issue and that we can all move ahead with the work we have to do.

Kindest regards,

Cyril

Village records and church records I wonder where they are held  and what episodes are available at this late date...

Hello Everyone:

I see that Mr Sancho is out to destroy my reputation and integrity.
I sort of expected he would do something like this after I read some stuff he wrote on David Granger and your alleged experiences with him.

I expect a full apology from his for distributing our private correspondence with others with the express intention of destroying my integrity.

I sent the writer a final e-mail on this matter which he DID NOT INCLUDE in his correspondence to you where I basically said I did not know that it was a MONEY MATTER and that I was taking food out his mouth.  I thought he just wanted readers to known that he scanned the pages and that he had further info on his BLOG... I was therefore surprised at his last e-mail accusing me of taking food out his mouth.

First of all it is NOT HIS STUFF.  He did NOT write this book, or had  it compiled.  Also I did not aware he had formation on this book on his Blog as I do not visit it

Second the only  claim to fame is that he says he scanned the 40 pages.  However, is he the only person that has scanned those 40 pages, from the many books that should be in circulation?

Third I have a copy of that book in my library given to me by my father, whose name is in that book, and I intend to post information scanned from that book as I see fit.

I do not charge for what I do and do not expect payment, except where i get advertisements or a few dollars small amounts Google related advertisements.  What I do is NOT FOR MONEY.  I do it as a service to Guyanese. Had I known that this was a money issue from the beginning I may have approached it differently.

Now that war has been declared on me I will have to defend myself on the BLOG and elsewhere and make public clarifications as I will now put it back on the Blog as my name has already been besmirched.  I may as well go all the way!

Regards to all
Cyril Bryan

Cyril Bryan

I find it absolutely difficult to imagine that you took the stand you did. I wish you remove my file from your site and place such content found in the book respecting St. Vincent, Grenada, Barbados, Trinidad and your own file respecting Guyana I would respect that . . . I would have - I could not have any problem with such actions - by then again you do have to comply with any of my suggestions. But not doing so expose my impress of this episode as totally factual and convincing beyond a shadow of doubt . . .

If you have your copy of the book;  why then have you used my effort against me? What wrong did I do to you? That is the question I ponder . . . I have no recollection of violating you.  if I did I beg your pardon . . . Thus as far as I understand you have no ground to continue to belittle my intelligence and keep bread out of my stomach by using my effort against me . . . I cannot imagine anyone so violated would welcome responses similar to what you have offered.

I know that it is likely more than two copies of the fourth edition have survived. I acknowledge that people may possess copies in their private collection. That’s not my contention.

The issue arises because I recognize my labor and investment is being compromised by my own effort. In simply words you are giving away my labor and investment of time, and money by posting and allowing people to access and/or download information I put out without compensation. You are denying me the opportunity to create income from that particular research as I had intended. There is no doubt I made the file.  You placed online.  I find it distasteful that you would not totally honor and respect another researcher’s investment. Your actions do not represent that as thoroughly well-thought out. I did not accuse you of anything you had nothing to defend had you complied with reason.

I am very disappointed. And I am utterly dissatisfied with your reactions. I am sorry you chose to amplify your sordid actions. I deeply resent deceit. It is most revolting. I am a very bitter person when my integrity and ambitions are compromised.

I wish you remove any and all forms of contact to and/or with me. I am utterly disappointed. It pains my heart to experience this with you. I wanted you and I to work together on a project relative to the work of cannon Burgan and chairman Burgan of Beterverwagting. I have such a pain in my heart. It’s hemorrhaging.  I am in tears.

Well I promised my mother I will refrain from burning bridges - that I will try to understand the shortcomings of humans - but I remain a most uncompromising and bitter soul whenever I realize I have been violated. It matters not to me respecting the possibility of obtaining redress in the legal arena; I find that for the most part is always principle over personalities. It is a moral issue. Please bear in mind I am not attempting to state I stand always on moral higher ground.

With that said I must reiterate I am very perturbed by your response I wish it were different. But who be m?  But little ole me . . . no one is in this world to live to my expectations - but at the same time I don't appreciate anyone taking bread off my table. And that's what it is in a nut shell.

I wish it were different I cannot see any other way out. I count that as a loss of data, time, effort, money, and possible collaborations in the future in two words, distasteful and troubling . . .

What am I? Who am I?  I am an autochthon of earth; I am subjected to the laws of nature . . .

It informs me.  Your integrity is questionable.

All thanks and praises are due to the most ancient of ancestors of man and mankind or kinds of man Long Live the Shareholders of the Plantations on the East Sea Coast of Demerara. .

Hello Mr. Sancho:
Thanks for your e-mail.
I have a copy of this book -given to me in the 1970's -by my father George Bryan, whose name is included in this book.
True... I did not scan the book I have,
False .... that I knew who scanned the pages I received in a CD of historical documents which included many historical documents.
I am not in my office for another month, so I cannot list the many documents on that CD. I think that it included a Who-Who dated 1985..  I think it is by Vincent Roth which is quire large, and which I intend to publish later.
Fact ....If I knew that you had made the effort of scanning those 40 pages, I would have listed your name as the contributor.

Solution: If you have a link where these documents are located, then I would attach that link to the entry.
If that is not available, then I would attach your name as the person from which the documents were obtained after they were scanned.
You would have to supply me with the wording and the name you would use in the statement so that it meets your approval.

Regards,
Cyril

Mr. Cyril  Bryan,

How are you doing? I really do not know how it is you were afforded the opportunity to access and possess the Guyana section of the publication Personalities’ Caribbean the Fourth Edition 1970-1971. I found that it was uploaded to your blogs on April24, 2011. The URL is given as

http://guyaneseonline.wordpress.com/2011/04/21/guyana-personalities-1970-1971/.  I determined that you did not scan the pages of the publication. It is exactly as I scanned the pages in a library in New York City. In fact, I have not accessed all of the editions of the publication. I had intended to scan all the known publications. Also I intended to scan the four editions of Delph and Roth’s publications who’s who in British Guiana - and other biographical materials relative to the people of British Guiana.

I can also tell you I scanned the Guyana section of the sixth edition of the publication. However, that was my first effort. I made the mistake. I scanned the first page of the Guyana section upside down. I need to visit the library. I need to make the correction.

However, it pains me to invest my time, and energy only to see my efforts utilized without any mention of my participation in the process.  It is tantamount to being physically violated.

I wish that you respect the facts and give credit where it is due. I must also state several researchers sent me materials which I could read and utilized without making it public.  I respect their wishes. I comply with their requests and /or demands. I really hope you cooperate and honor my time, effort and sacrifice.

Much respect to you; I acknowledge and recognize the fact that you utilize the information superhighway as a teaching tool in your efforts to educate our people . . .

Thus as one son of a career school teacher to another;  I would dearly love to be enlighten that you  appreciate  and  respect the facts of the matter at hand, and by simply honoring this request.

Most respectfully
