CWI is a mess

Certainly, the atmosphere in organized cricket everywhere mirrors the behavior of the geography. In Guyana, and the Caribbean Sea basin, the climate is poisoned. Indians and Africans have their manufactured differences everywhere. Africans have been powerless since 664BCE.

In this period of Zionist European dominance with systems of people population control and depopulation; the so-called West Indians need to wake up. West Indians need to either abandon or rectify the false construct - West Indies cricket.

CWI needs to correct numerous issues and problems.  Historically organized cricket has been biased against cricketers resident in rural communities. West Indies cricket have always been biased against spinners, Indians, Guyanese and Berbicians. Certainly, Caucasians do not occupy the offices and dominate team selection as they did 1887-1961.  However, a number of issues have survived into this late date. How it is Nikita Miller, a quality spinner from Jamaica only played one test match? Of course, that’s not ethnic bias. It is prejudice against spinners. Permaul assumed the mantle of dominance. He too has endured frustration with the selectors. The selectors are ridiculously choosing four quick bowlers above over and beyond a balanced attack including the two best spinners in the Caribbean. Hetmyer has proven he is a winning captain.

Not a damned thing has changed in some 50 years. In 1973 and 1974, WICB was forced to choose successors to Gary Sobers and Rohan Kanhai. In fact Sobers should have been relieved of the captaincy in 1968. Insularity is the major reason for the continuum of loosing West Indies cricket, 1995-2022.  During 1974-1995, Lloyd, Richards and Richardson managed to win, consistently.  Thereby Lloyd, Richards and Richardson kept a plaster on insularity. Winning cricket camouflage the flawed concept of West Indies cricket and differences of formerly plantation enslaved melanin dominant people.

IPL shows you Hetmyer is the best batsman in West Indies cricket. At this late date, Shimron Hetmyer, Shai Hope, Nicholas Pooran, Keacy Carty, Alick Athanaze, Kimani Melius, Gudakesh Motie, Brandon King and Sherfane Rutherford should have seasoned internationals.  West Indies should be surging to the top of international cricket in the three genres of the game.

However, it’s BCA as usual handcuffing West Indies cricket. Who can forget the advocacy of “cousin” Holford, Joey Carew and Maurice Foster for West Indies captain over Rohan Kanhai and Clive Lloyd in 1973 and 1974, respectively?  Common sense prevailed. West Indies had endured 23 test matches under Gary Sobers without a victory. Gary Sobers lead West Indies to victory in India in 1967. Clive Lloyd impacted that series with a couple of dominant innings. Rohan Kanhai lead West Indies teams blew two games against Ian Chappell led Australians in 1973. It was not until summer 1973 Rohan Kanhai ended the drought of 28 test matches without a victory against Ray Illingworth led Englishmen.

Clive Lloyd would eventually take West Indies cricket to heights it never experienced previously. Richards and Richardson maintain the winning dominant tradition begun by Lloyd.

Lloyd and Richards teams won everything but every world cup. Hence, winning cricket was a plaster - a band aid of the nonsense of West Indies cricket. Barbadians are the primary reason for the nonsense. Look at the demise of Gary Sobers teams. You will notice the high number of Barbadians in the touring teams. You will notice 1968-1972, the majority were mediocre, aging and past their prime. Look at Holder and Brathwaite teams you will observe see the same foolishness mediocre Barbadians dominant teams of 1968-1972 repeated continuously. The problem is Barbados and Trinidad dominates selection of teams hence the politics of insularity is the primary contributing factors to the awful product in international arenas.  Roger Harper was awful. Harper was a ridiculous tote the line Barbadian first, anti Guyanese anti Indian anti Berbice anti rural communities operative as promoted and practiced by WICB, CWI and GCB.  Roger Harper refused to choose spinners and outstanding fielding as priority. Desmond Haynes and the other non Guyanese aren’t surprising.  Only Deryck Murray speaks of the magnificence of Basil Butcher and Roy Fredericks. The dynamic Berbicians are rarely mentioned. Not even Clive Lloyd waxes about Roy Fredericks and Alvin Kallicharran as he should. Greg Chappell speaks glowingly of the Berbicians except Basil Butcher.  I don’t think Greg Chappell played against Butcher even in a first class match.

CWI is a mess.  How is CWI to be righted?  Unless and until Indians dominate the offices; align CWI with BCCI; some major investor taking over organized cricket in the West Indies and making it profitable it is doubtful CWI will survive.  There is no Kerry Packer on the horizon. Poison is everywhere. West Indies cricket is doomed to fail for several more years. Hetmyer ought to stay well clear of this nonsense.  Hetmyer ought to play franchise cricket everywhere.  Hetmyer ought to get paid handsomely. Hetmyer ought to invest his earnings in real estate and businesses in the major centers. Hetmyer ought to   never face financial difficulties for the remainder of his life.
