Do you fantasize about playing county, regional and international cricket

Do you fantasize about playing county, regional and international cricket? That is a question I love to ask every 5-19 years old male in Berbice, Guyana, and the West Indies.

When I was a child and teenager, I often imagined batting with Kanhai, Butcher, Fredericks and Kallicharran for Berbice, British Guiana, West Indies and Rest of the World teams. Winston Matthews, Joe Doolam, Randolph Etwaroo, Burlin Saheed, Randolph Ramnarace, and Annan Sukram are always on my teams. Black Jack, Anil Ramchiritar, Lal Munilall and Joe Sukwah are always in periphery of the playing eleven.

Of course, there are record breaking innings on perhaps most occasions. The grounds would be overwhelmed with spectators. Sobers, Hall and Griffith would be soundly trashed. Hunte would call upon the Christian god to save Barbados. Gilchrist would be so distraught he would refuse to bowl. Collie Smith would demand the Berbice players be tested to ensure they are humans.

Did you fantasize about you playing with and/or against international super stars? If you did – who are they?

Firry Fred and john snow were always savaged in my dreams. Lillee and Thomson encountered Perth December 1975 on every occasion in my dreams. Don Bradman was always dismissed with the first ball.  Hanif, Sunil, Gundappa, Chandu, Greg, Ian Doug, Rod, Tony, Tom, Ken, Colin Cowdrey, Colin Milburn, Graeme, Eddy and Barry would be subjected bouncers barrage on every occasion.

In my dreams, Berbice, British Guiana/Guyana, West Indies and Rest of the World teams never lost a match. And no match made it into the final session of the final day.
